We can see the first connections between female saints through family bonds and marriage. The connection between Osthryth of Bardney and Eanswythe of Folkstone can be identified along the red line. Eanswythe’s niece Eormenhilde of Ely’s bother-in-law’s wife was Osthryth. Notable also the various female saints along the red line.

This tree of connections will be added on over the duration of the project. It will be intriguing to see how the over 65 Anglo-Saxon female saints were connected with each other in general and to Eanswythe in particular.
